"Called Don and set an appointment and he promptly showed up as scheduled on 12/19/2023 at 8:00am. He took one listen to the sound my garage door opener was making and said: "I know what that is." He explained what the problem was, said it was a really common problem and easy to fix. He offered me the option of replacing the entire unit or repairing the old unit. I asked him, what he would do and he said, he'd simply fix the old unit as the motor last forever and parts are still readily available for this common failure. I really appreciated that Don offered me the option to replace the unit, but recommended the lower-cost repair option - now that's integrity and customer service that you rarely see any more. If you have any kind of automatic garage door opener issues, I HIGHLY recommend you call Don at American Overhead Door and schedule an appointment. You'll be glad you did! He's a true professional that knows his craft, has integrity and is an honest businessperson to do business with. It doesn't get much better than that. Great job Don and thank you!"

"Don is probably The Best Service Professional I've interacted with all year! (From any industry!) He was knowledgeable, prompt, quick, thorough, had great communication throughout. And his prices were reasonable. I.e. Some other vendors quoted "Elemental" prices that were close to gold or platinum or titanium costs (i.e. inflated and variable)--AOD's costs were like steel (i.e. strong and affordable)."

"I highly recommend Don at American Overhead Door (not to be confused with a similar named nationwide company). Don is the local owner and sole proprietor. One of my two garage doors had a broken tension spring (my car was stuck behind the door that would not open). Don's website posted hours beginning at 7:30 - earlier than other companies. True to his word, he returned my phone call within 15 minutes, rearranged his schedule to come immediately and showed at my door within 20 minutes. Don was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient - in and out about half an hour. He replaced the spring with a heavier duty one, replaced a fraying cable that I hadn't noticed, and lubed the moving parts of the door. In a test of honesty, I asked about a couple other possible things he might do while here. Don took the time to explain why those items were not necessary. He aced the test. If you have garage door issues, this should be your go-to guy FOR SURE!

"A spring broke on a heavy wooden double garage door. The technician arrived on time and completed the repair in less than one hour. He also inspected the entire door and found some loose attachment bolts that needed to be replaced thus saving me additional problems in the future. Excellent service!"

"Our 16yr old decided it would be fun to drive through our garage door. I think she secretly knew I hated the door and needed an excuse to get a new one. Don was amazing! He was quick to respond, extremely prompt emailing me brochures, scheduling quotes and sending me invoices. Our new door was delivered 2 weeks early and he was at my home the very next day, 7:30 am sharp for installation. Don had the door installed in 3 quick hours and even took the time to show me how to program my old remotes to our new opener. I also appreciated the fact that he left no trace of his work and the garage was just as clean as it was when he got there. I would HIGHLY recommend American Overhead Door! THANKS DON!"

"I called to get an appointment to have my garage door repaired. Don replied quickly and set up an appointment to accommodate my schedule. He arrived on time and replaced the broken spring and lubricated everything else on the door. He was very quick and friendly. His pricing is very reasonable. Our automatic garage door was installed by another company who just weren't responsive. I would recommend American Overhead Door over some of the bigger companies."

"Chain was loosening on my Craftsman garage door opener, had the "other guys" come to diagnose it, took 2 weeks for an appointment. Was told in 5 minutes by the service man without touching the unit a part was damaged inside and had to replace THE ENTIRE UNIT. Then the guy was rude when I asked him to stay more than 5 minutes and lube the joints in the door and opener as I had asked for annual maintenance during this call too. He rushed through, unwilling to adjust a gap in the door, then told me the office would send me an email of a replacement unit I could look at, their brand. It only had one light, my current unit has 2. Only one remote for a two car garage. I had decided to look at Home Depot and found a better unit. I went on Google to find the phone number of that company to schedule the install and American Overhead Door showed up in the search. My gut told me to get another estimate...Don answered and was fantastic and to the point on the phone. He didn't think I needed a whole new unit. He came over, arrived super promptly, went straight to work, OPENED the unit to actually look at it, found the problem and replaced the part. In 30 minutes. Had everything he needed. I didn't have to wait for a part after diagnosis! Left an invoice for me in my garage and even swapped my broken light cover for free. Lubed the bar too the other guys apparent never did. I'm in happy tears writing this. I have had such bad luck with contractors and sub-contractors since I purchased my place 12 years ago. I've been treated poorly, cheated and have had very poor work done at huge expenses. Don, I thank you for being honest, direct, and kind. And for saving me time, stress and money."
